DHS COORDINATED WITH CHINESE DRONE COMPANY TO CREATE THE FIRST TOTALLY SURVEILLED CITY IN AMERICA

Inside San Diego’s metropolitan area, California’s second largest city, home to some 275,000 residents, has made the history books. Their mark on history will be a dark one as they become the first city in America to be completely monitored by spy drones.

On a per capita basis, they’re probably the most or one of the most surveilled cities in the country,” said Brian Hofer, executive director of the Oakland-based privacy advocacy group Secure Justice. “Pretty much the minute you walk outside your front door and move about your daily life, you’re going to be tagged and tracked by some law enforcement agency, even though you’ve likely never been suspected of any wrongdoing.”

Chula Vista’s drone program didn’t come to fruition over night. Instead, the Department of Homeland Security and other government agencies coordinated with with Chinese drone manufacturers and unscrupulous actors in Big Tech and have implemented the program over the course of several years.

In 2020, as fearful citizens begged the government for safety that never came, they willingly accepted this egregious invasion of privacy.

“The(Police) department is considering one strategy to use drone-mounted speakers to communicate and reach vulnerable populations in inaccessible areas of the city, like large urban canyons with homeless encampments,” the Chula Vista Police Department said in a press release when they began to spy on citizens 24/7. “Unsheltered persons are particularly vulnerable to the current pandemic, and their safety and welfare is important to stopping the spread of the disease.”

The company who manufactures the drones had no problem admitting the “Orwellian” nature of such a program. “What we saw in China, and what we’re probably going to see around the world, is using drones with cameras and loudspeakers to fly around to see if people are gathering where they shouldn’t be, and telling them to go home,” Spencer Gore, chief executive of U.S.-based drone company Impossible Aerospace, said. “It seems a little Orwellian, but this could save lives.”

People don’t realize the depths of Chinese espionage and the fact that they use any opportunity,” said Jim Lewis, a researcher at the DC-based, bipartisan Center for Strategic and International Studies. “We face the biggest espionage battle we’ve ever had with China. The way people engage in espionage has changed. It’s moved largely to technology and digital devices.”

As we’ve seen with other Orwellian moves like license plate scanners and surveillance cameras, this drone program will not remain solely in Chula Vista and other states have already begun similar programs.

Israel Used Pegasus Spyware Against Own Citizens For Warrantless Surveillance

Promis 2.0 Governmental Mass surveillance has gone Worldwide.

Digital privacy advocates were alarmed but not surprised by a report alleging that police in Israel used NSO’s Pegasus spyware against Israeli citizens, including opponents of former right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

As reported the special operations cyber unit of Israel’s police remotely planted the private company’s spyware on phones belonging to political activists, mayors, former government employees, and others, “taking over their devices and having the ability to listen to all their calls and read all their messages.”

The reporting indicates that the extrajudicial surveillance occurred without court supervision, and police did not request search or bugging warrants for the targeted individuals—who were suspected of no crimes

Those scandals include repeated revelations that NSO’s spyware was surreptitiously installed on the devices of dissidents, human rights defendersjournalists, and others around the world—especially in other Middle Eastern nations—as well as reporting last month that Pegasus was used by an unknown party or parties to hack the iPhones of nearly a dozen U.S. State Department officials.

Reported by Calcalist, NSO’s spyware was also used by police for phishing purposes: attempts to phish for information in an intelligence target’s phone without knowing in advance that the target committed any crime. Pegasus was installed in a cellphone of a person close to a senior politician in order to try and find evidence relating to a corruption investigation.”

What Is DARPA Planning With The W.E.F ?

Original article by Marie Hawthorne

In 2013, President Obama awarded $100 million in grant money to launch the BRAIN (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies) Initiative. This program conducts neurotechnological research in the name of treating various neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, and brain injuries. By 2016, the BRAIN Initiative was supported by multiple federal agencies and dozens of partners in the academic and private sectors. Some of the research sounds fascinating. They have been investigating ways to deliver naturalistic sensations to amputees, as well as restoring brain function in people that have suffered severe brain trauma. I can see this being a godsend to people with severe injuries or amputations.

Enter DARPA

DARPA’s research involves treating brain networks. The Systems Based Neurotechnology for Emerging Therapies (SUBNETS) program involves therapies that treat psychiatric illness by recording and analyzing brain activity with near-real-time brain stimulation to correct brain dysfunction. This research, begun under Obama’s BRAIN Initiative almost ten years ago, has translated into some real-world success stories. Some people have indeed experienced real relief from the symptoms of severe depression with targeted brain stimulation. DARPA’s research has made progress manipulating brain function via surgically implanted electrodes. They are also researching non-surgical methods to do the same.

What are the risks here of the DARPA BRAIN Initiative?

When we open up channels between human brains and electronic devices, we create new pathways of communication. In his 1928 book Propaganda, Edward Bernays states, “There is no means of communication which may not also be a means of deliberate propaganda.” Every time we open up new avenues of communication, we also open up new ways to be manipulated. The technology toward brain-digital interfacing has progressed a long way. And we have the same argument that comes along with every burst of new technology.

Do the risks outweigh the gains? Most of the time, we say no.

But let’s think about the internet.

The internet created a revolution in communications, the like of which we have not seen since the invention of the printing press. And are we not subjected to more propaganda than ever? Does it not take more and more effort to sift the truth from the half-truths and the outright lies?

This is widely recognized, though I think we’re heading in the wrong direction. Look at Biden’s newest creation, the Disinformation Governance Board. Ostensibly created to crack down on Russian misinformation and smuggling on the U.S.-Mexico border, the DGB will ultimately stifle dissent.

It would be naïve in the extreme to think that none of this research by DARPA could be used for nefarious purposes. DARPA only discusses the peaceful, medical aspects of their neuroscientific research. But a funny thing turned up in a FOIA request back in 2018.

A journalist for Muckrock magazine sent in a FOIA request regarding Antifa/BLM activity. Along with the information he requested, another file was accidentally slipped in with everything else.

The Muckrock journalist was shocked by his accidental find, to say the least, and they published this back in 2018.   It’s unclear how much progress has been made in weaponizing the human-digital interface, but people are thinking about it, and it looks like they have been for a long time. Now, DARPA may be full of the most selfless public servants dedicated to nothing but the safety and well-being of the American people. But a funny thing about technology is that it has a way of escaping, and there are plenty of groups out there who emphatically do not have the well-being of the American people in mind. I can imagine they are pretty interested in brain mapping and manipulation too.

One man in particular who regularly speaks of humans as machines to be “hacked” is Dr. Yuval Harari.

He took part in a roundtable discussion on Hacking Humans hosted by the (EPFL).

The thought of this man, or anyone with his mindset, having control over other humans is disturbing in the extreme. Dr. Harari believes in the inherent superiority of algorithms. He insists humans kill everything around them and that the majority are only capable of thinking in the short term. To have any life left at all, we must rely on algorithms to make decisions for us. Dr. Harari says that humans have never been as free as we thought and that the concept of freedom is mostly just a collection of bio-cultural factors. He goes on to say that people with a firm sense of their own free will are dangerous but easy to manipulate.

Dr. Harari works with the World Economic Forum and so, unfortunately, does DARPA.

While DARPA claims to work primarily with the interests of the United States at heart, what happens to their $3.8 billion per year budget tells another story. You can go down a real rabbit hole trying to find every last detail about where their money goes, but for the purposes of this article, it should suffice to say that they direct a great deal of money to the same bioengineering firms as the WEF. If DARPA knows how to do something, it’s safe to assume that the control fiends at the WEF will soon know it, too.

The Creepiest & Most Dystopian Things Being Pushed By The World Economic Forum

When one talks about the “global elite”, one usually refers to a small group of wealthy and powerful individuals who operate beyond national borders. Through various organizations, these non-elected individuals gather in semi-secrecy to decide policies they want to see applied on a global level. The World Economic Forum (WEF) is smack dab in the middle of it all. Indeed, through its annual Davos meetings, the WEF attempts to legitimize and normalize its influence on the world’s democratic nations by having a panel of world leaders attending and speaking at the event.

A simple look at the list of attendees at these meetings reveals the organization’s incredible reach and influence. The biggest names in media, politics, business, science, technology, and finance are represented at the WEF. According to mass media, the Davos meetings gather people to discuss issues such as “inequality, climate change, and international cooperation”. This simplistic description appears to be custom-made to cause the average citizen to yawn in boredom. But topics at the WEF go much further than “inequality”.

Throughout the years, people at the WEF have said some highly disturbing things, none of which garnered proper media attention. In fact, when one pieces together the topics championed by the WEF, an overarching theme emerges: The total control of humanity using media, science, and technology while reshaping democracies to form a global government.

And so Here are some of the most dystopian things that are being pushed by the WEF right now.

Penetrating Governments

The least one can say is that Klaus Schwab, the founder and the head of the WEF is not a fan of democracy. In fact, he perceives it as an obstacle to a fully globalized world. In the 2010 WEF report titled “Global Redesign”, Schwab postulates that a globalized world is best managed by a “self-selected coalition of multinational corporations, governments , and select civil society organizations (CSOs)”. This is the exact opposite of a democracy.

Schwab has argued that governments are no longer “the overwhelmingly dominant actors on the world stage” and that “the time has come for a new stakeholder paradigm of international governance”. For this reason, the Transnational Institute (TNI) described the WEF as “a silent global coup d’état” to capture governance.

In 2017,Schwab blatantly admitted what is continually dismissed as a “conspiracy theory” by mass media: The WEF is “penetrating” governments around the world.

In this outstanding talk, Schwab blatantly states that various world leaders have been “groomed” by the WEF. This is the absolute truth, confirmed by the head of the WEF himself.

Pushing For a Great Reset

As stated above, the WEF perceives the pandemic as an “opportunity”. It is not only an opportunity to reshape our personal existence but to restructure the entire world structure according to its principles. The WEF calls it “the Great Reset”. To promote this Reset the WEF released this propaganda video :

The Great Reset is an announcement of the “death of capitalism”. While capitalism is based on a self-regulating system of offer and demand, the Great Reset looks to redefine the way businesses are evaluated through new parameters. The main one: Compliance with the elite’s social and political agendas.

Instead of allowing successful individuals and businesses to grow organically, the elite’s system would interfere to “get the right people at the right place at the right time”, in accordance with its agenda. In other words, the system would be rigged and compliance with a wider agenda would be mandatory in a new economy.

Recalibrating” freedom of speech

An easy way to identify world leaders who are groomed by the WEF is through their incessant railing against free speech. They absolutely hate it and they’re constantly calling for the internet to be censored and highly regulated.

At the 2022 Davos meeting, Australian “eSafety commissioner” Julie Inman Grant stated that we need a “recalibration of free speech”.

Grant essentially calls for censorship. She even believes that freedom of speech as a human right should be “recalibrated” using “online violence” as an excuse. Free speech is, in fact, binary. Either it exists or it doesn’t. And they clearly don’t want it to exist.

Pills That Contain Microchips

Once again, this title sounds like a far-fetched conspiracy theory cleverly worded for sensationalism. It is not. Here’s a video from the WEF’s 2018 meeting where Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, talks about pills that contain microchips.

As Bourla himself said: Imagine the compliance. This kind of technology could easily open the door to all kinds of nefarious applications. Since then, COVID put Pfizer in a position of power never seen before for a pharmaceutical company.

By 2030 “You’ll Own Nothing. And You’ll Be Happy.”

This is probably the most dystopian moment in WEF history. In 2016, Ida Auken, a Member of Parliament in Denmark Wrote an Essay orginally entitled: Welcome To 2030: I Own Nothing, Have No Privacy And Life Has Never Been Better.

In this dystopian future, there are no products you can own. Only “services” that are rented and delivered using drones. This system would make all humans completely dependent on WEF-controlled corporations for every single basic need. There would be absolutely no autonomy, no freedom, and no privacy. And you’ll be happy.

With the WEF agenda two common themes become obvious. The first theme is “penetration”. The WEF wants to penetrate governments using “Global Leaders” (aka Manchurian candidates). It also wants to penetrate our bodies through pills, microchips, and vaccines.  The other theme is “control”. They want to control what we think, where we go, what we say, what we eat, and what we wear.

Bilderberg 2022, coming to Washington D.C.

One of the most influential gatherings in the world is now taking place in Washington, DC. More than 120 representatives of the European and North American elite from politics, business, big tech, media, and academia will meet from June 2nd to 5th for the 68th Bilderberg Meeting to discuss important global issues.

The secretive summit of the global elite is taking place for the first time in three years due to Covid. Many believe that the meeting’s participants will be chosen to implement a “new world order” which globalists have openly bragged about for years.

Among some of the notable 120 invitees this year publicly acknowledged by Bilderberg are Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Henry Kissinger, former CIA head David Petraeus, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt,  Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and CIA Director William J. Burns. As well as Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Mark Carney, vice chair of Brookfield Asset Management who served as the governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013 and the governor of the Bank of England from 2013 to 2020.

Key topics of discussion this year include:

  • Geopolitical realignment
  • NATO Challenges
  • China
  • Indo-Pacific Realignment
  • Technological competition between China and the USA
  • Russia
  • Continuity of government and economy
  • Disruption of the global financial system
  • Disinformation
  • Energy security and sustainability
  • Health after a pandemic
  • Fragmentation of democratic societies
  • Trade and deglobalization
  • Ukraine

About two thirds of the participants come from Europe and the rest from North America; approximately a quarter are from politics and government and the rest from other fields. The group describes itself and its activities thus:

The Bilderberg Meeting is a forum for informal discussions about major issues. The meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule, which states that participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s) nor any other participant may be revealed.

Thanks to the private nature of the Meeting, the participants take part as individuals rather than in any official capacity, and hence are not bound by the conventions of their office or by pre-agreed positions. As such, they can take time to listen, reflect and gather insights. There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken and no policy statements are issued.

The conference, initially started by the Dutch royal family in 1954, is seen as the genesis for ideas ranging from free trade agreements like NAFTA to the creation of the European Union, The event, convened under the leadership of Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, was first held in the Bilderberg hotel in Oosterbeek.

Influential politicians and business leaders who have attended the Bilderberg conference include former US President Bill Clinton, businessman, former Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Henry Kissenger the 56th United States Secretary of State has attended over 16 times, and International Monetary Fund Director Christine Lagarde.

The Notoriety of the Bilderberg group has been largely a secret for the past 60 + years public awareness and resistance to their secretive agenda’s has steadily been growing since the Early 2000’s.

What You Need To Know About The World Economic Forum’s 2022 Meeting

Original Article by Derek Broze

More than 2,500 heads of state, business executives, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and media personalities met in Davos, Switzerland to plot the future of the world.

As the Davos crowd returns to Switzerland for the first in person World Economic Forum meeting in more than 2 years, several topics were at the forefront of discussion. From energy to inflation, Ukraine and globalization, the Metaverse and ESG criteria, the annual meeting of wannabe elitists saw discussions on a wide range of pressing topics.

Here are some of the main Topics/talking points:

Ukraine

While most of the diplomats and heads of state commenting on the Ukraine-Russia conflict committed to supporting the Ukrainian government, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger started off the week by encouraging the international community to cede some territory to Russia so there may be peace.  “Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the status quo ante. Pursuing the war beyond that point would not be about the freedom of Ukraine but a new war against Russia itself,” Kissinger said.

Kissinger’s statements indicate a support for allowing Russia to maintain control of Crimea and informally rule the Donbass region. Meanwhile, Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said peace negotiations with Russia are going “nowhere”.

The coming days and weeks will reveal whether the globalist jet set crowd will listen to Klaus Schwab’s mentor Henry Kissinger, or western puppet Zelenskyy.

The Next Pandemic

Another panel titled “Preparing for the Next Pandemic”, featured Bill Gates; Peter Sands, Executive Director, The Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria; Helen E. Clark of the WHO; and Francis deSouza, President and Chief Executive Officer, Illumina Inc. The presence of deSouza and Illumina is an interesting choice, especially in regards to the “next pandemic”, because the company deals with DNA sequencing and genomics.

Additionally, there was a panel titled “The Post-Pandemic City: Not Business as Usual”, featuring speakers imagining how a city might change in the post-COVID-19 world.

Participating in the panel was Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami and President of the United States Conference of Mayors. This detail is worth noting as an example of how a global agenda — Agenda 2030, climate change, sustainable design — starts at places like the WEF and filters its way down to the local level where it is implemented by local officials like Mayor Suarez.

Pfizer and Vaccines

Despite two years having passed since the World Health Organizations announcement of a “global pandemic”, the topic of vaccinations was high on the list of priorities, especially as corporate media begins to sound the alarm on “a new wave of COVID-19 infections” and concerns about Monkeypox

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer committed to providing all of their current and future patent-protected medicines on a not-for-profit basis to 45 low-income nations. The move was announced by Pfizer CEO Alberta Bourla. He made no mention of adverse reactions caused by Pfizer’s COVID-19 injections.

Climate Change & Commitment to Carbon removal

Of course, climate change was a hot topic throughout the week. There were strong words from Xie Zhenhua, China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, saying words were not enough. “It isn’t just about words anymore – it is about action. Climate action, now, is critical.” US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry said the only way forward was to “radically change our economic system and our reliance on fossil fuels” over the next 8 years. Kerry also noted that “we have the technology to change, we need the political will. If we can harness this, we can still avoid the worst effects of climate change.”

When it comes to specific actions taken by the globalists “in the name of fighting climate change”, a new public-private partnership (Read covert Corporatism/Fascism) was announced focused on carbon capture programs. The so-called First Movers Coalition is focused on cleaning up the most carbon-intensive industry sectors. Corporations signing on for the First Movers Coalition include Alphabet, Microsoft, AES, Aveva, Ball Corporation, BHP, Consolidated Contractors Company, Ecolab, Enel, EY, FedEx, Ford Motor Company, HeidelbergCement, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines,National Grid, Novelis, PWC, Schneider Electric, Swiss Re, and Vestas.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Criteria

One of the methods that companies are using to measure the success of these types of programs is to base them on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. ESG investing is also sometimes referred to as socially responsible investing (SRI).  he practice has become an increasingly popular way to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and was on full display at WEF 22.

While much of the conversation around ESG focused on corporations attempting to “go green”, many researchers suspect ESG-like criteria will eventually be applied to individuals as some form of social credit score.

Alibaba Group president, J. Michael Evans, discussed the importance of his company and others adopting the ESG criteria. He also boasted about the development of an “individual carbon footprint tracker” to monitor what you buy, what you eat, as well as where and how you travel.

AI Gun Detection Gaining Popularity In U.S.

AI Scanners may become the norm in the United States as Governments, and private companies look to beef up their surveillance options in the wake of rising gun violence. According to a report from the Washington Post, systems like Evolv Technology are becoming increasingly popular. Evolv’s machines are similar to metal detectors but instead use AI and light-emission to detect firearms concealed on a person.

Evolv claims that this system can detect weapons without the need for the traditional “airport” style system. Those looking to enter through a security checkpoint must empty their pockets and then pass through a metal detector.

The system is gaining traction throughout the US. Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, suggested using Evolv Technology’s AI weapons detection system on the NYC Subway in the weeks after the Brooklyn subway shooting that saw 23 people injured.

Speaking to Washington Post about the Evolv system, Jamais Cascio, founder of Open the Future, had this to say:

“My concern is what happens when it moves beyond looking for weapons at a concert — when someone decides to add all kinds of inputs on the person being scanned, or if we enter a protest and a government agency can now use the system to track and log us. We know what a metal detector can and can’t tell us. We have no idea how this can be used.”

The idea behind AI detecting and logging firearms is not a new one. Omnilert, another company specializing in AI threat detection, has been integrating its technologies into existing security camera systems since 2020. Tech Giants like Google and Facebook also have their versions of AI weapons detection with their Optical Character Recognition system. This system logs and indexes firearm serial numbers, making them easily accessible by google image search.

With 2020 & 2021 seeing record numbers of gun-buying and concealed carry permit applications, it seems that governments and corporate entities are seeking to beef up their surveillance and security in response.

Could the upcoming verdict of the Supreme Court’s newest 2nd Amendment case affect the proliferation of AI firearms detection as well?

Privacy Advocates Celebrate “Big Win” Against Facial Recognition Giant Clearview A.I.

A historic settlement filed in court on Monday highlighted the power of Illinois’ strong privacy law and will result in new nationwide restrictions on a controversial technology company infamous for selling access to the largest known database of facial images.

The deal permanently banning Clearview AI from providing most private entities with free or paid access to its database stems from a lawsuit that the ACLU and partners filed in 2020, arguing that the company violated Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

In addition to permanently banning Clearview from granting private companies and individuals access to the database, the settlement has some state-specific limits. For the next five years, Clearview can’t allow private companies with exceptions under BIPA or state or local government entities in Illinois, including law enforcement, access to the database.

One key exception is that, Clearview will still be able to provide its database to U.S. banks and financial institutions under a carve-out in the Illinois law.

Hoan Ton-That, chief executive of Clearview AI, said the company did “not have plans” to provide the database “to entities besides government agencies at this time.” The settlement does not mean that Clearview cannot sell any product to corporations. It will still be able to sell its facial recognition algorithm, without the database of 20 billion images, to companies.

Nathan Freed Wessler, a deputy director of the ACLU Speech, Privacy, and Technology Project, said that

By requiring Clearview to comply with Illinois’ pathbreaking biometric privacy law not just in the state, but across the country, this settlement demonstrates that strong privacy laws can provide real protections against abuse.”

“Clearview can no longer treat people’s unique biometric identifiers as an unrestricted source of profit,” he said. “Other companies would be wise to take note, and other states should follow Illinois’ lead in enacting strong biometric privacy laws.”

Surveillance Technology Oversight Project executive director Albert Fox Cahn stated “this is a milestone for civil rights, and the ACLU deserves our thanks for once again safeguarding our Constitution.”

Banning Clearview AI in one state is not enough; we need a national ban,” Fox Cahn asserted. “Illinois has long been ahead of the curve in protecting residents from biometric surveillance, but it’s time for the rest of the country to catch up.”

Mastercard introducing biometric payments that require a face scan

Amid privacy concerns, payments giant Mastercard is rolling out the controversial biometric payment systems, allowing users to pay with the wave of a hand or a smile at a camera. The payments giant said it is rolling out the biometric checkout programs to speed up checkout time and reduce wait times. It also claims that biometric systems are more secure and hygienic than debit and credit cards. ( A.La. exploiting public fears,”Biosecurity” in order to roll in a Cashless society.)

Once enrolled, there is no need to slow down the checkout queue searching through their pockets or bag,” Mastercard said while introducing the controversial tech. “Consumers can simply check the bill and smile into a camera or wave their hand over a reader to pay.

Mastercard will begin testing its biometric checkout systems in Brazil, at five St Marche stores in the city of Sao Paulo. Interested users can register their biometrics via an app or in a store through Mastercard’s partner Payface. A spokesperson said that it will soon roll out the biometric checkout system in the UK, and is also focusing on markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The system will help Mastercard tap into the biometrics technology industry, which will be worth over $18 billion by 2026, according to KBV Research. Mastercard cited a study that claimed that 74% of the global population has a “positive attitude” towards biometrics.

However, privacy advocates have raised concerns about biometric checkout systems. The (rightful) concern is that the systems will collect and store data that can be used to monitor and track users.

“While it seems Mastercard have taken steps to protect and encrypt this data, as biometric payments become more commonplace the use of such data is likely to evolve and it will inevitably become harder to protect individuals rights to privacy,” – Added Suzie Miles, a partner at lawfirm Ashfords

Commercial brain-computer interface approved for human trials

Clinical trials of the first commercial Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system, developed by Synchron, have started in the United States. If the trials are deemed successful, the system could be used everywhere, and patients with paralysis could once again be in contact with the outside world.

At the initial stage, the Stentrode system (The prototype of which was Developed in 2016 by a DARPA funded research team)is tasked with confirming its safety, as well as the ability to effectively work with digital devices without the help of hands. Synchron Inc, the company that developed the system, is thus ahead of its well-known competitor in the face of Elon Musk’s Neuralink, which receives more funding, but has not yet fully formed the staff. Last year, Neuralink raised $205 million, while Synchron only raised $70 million (Not mentioned is the Backing of DARPA to the tune of 10 million$).

When implanted, Stentrode electrodes travel through the blood vessels to the brain (in Neuralink they are implanted directly into the skull), and the system begins to translate brain activity into electrical signals, allowing you to work with text messages, email, online shopping or other relatively simple tasks.

So far, Synchron said, such projects have received only permits for short-term series of experiments in the laboratory. However, if the new series of trials is successful, the program will be expanded to allow patients to use the systems on a long-term basis. The next step on the path toward approval would be a wider trial to test for efficacy. If the trials succeed, it will likely be several years before the Stentrode is available for sale.

Nueralink nears human testing of brain chip

Neuralink, the US neurotechnology firm co-founded by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has begun recruiting key employees to run its clinical trials, signaling that it’s inching closer to starting human testing of its brain implants.

The company has posted advertisements to hire a clinical trial director and a clinical trial coordinator. The ads note that the staffers will “work closely with some of the most innovative doctors and top engineers, as well as working with Neuralink’s first clinical trial participants.” Neuralink said the director will lead and help build its clinical research team and will develop “regulatory interactions that come with a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.”

Neuralink has already tested its chips in the brains of a macaque monkey and a pig. The company raised eyebrows last April, when it posted footage purporting to show a monkey playing a video game with its mind.

The first human test subjects will be people with severe spinal injuries, such as quadriplegics, Musk said at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council summit. “We have a chance with Neuralink to restore full-body functionality to someone who has a spinal cord injury,” he said.
